Richard Garriott wins $28 million from NCSoft
Hadn't seen this anywhere here, so if a thread already exists, delete/merge/euthanize/whatever.
Anyway, remember forever ago when he resigned, and then he sued because he didn't resign? Well, yesterday Lord British kicked ass and chewed bubble gum. I hate NCSoft and I love seeing them losing millions - however, I do feel bad for the inevitable trouble this will bring to ArenaNet. So I'm sorta torn. Discuss. |

Well I do have my concerns about this in regard to the safety of every MMO under the NC banner, particularly the free ones. We're in the process of losing Exteel, so please not any more. |

Don't worry. NCSoft will appeal and in the end, Garriott will not end up with anything near $28 million. And on top of the coming reduction in the award, his lawyers will get two-thirds of it.
Media always announce the results of the first decision in a lawsuit, but seldom, if ever, report on the final agreement 20 years down the road. There is no way this will affect ArenaNet.

Well, I logged on the gw and saw that they will be moving servers this tuesday.
